“You know, I remember the days we had nothing else to do but watch clouds drift away in the sky...

… where did all the time go?”

“Where did all the time go? Well, let’s see. If time had a place to go… hmm, where would it?”

“You know I never liked that you studied philosophy.”

“I know. But, didn’t you love me, regardless?”

“Is that a question you’re asking me at this age?”

“84 is as great an age to ask.”

“Yeah… yeah, I did love you, didn’t I?”

“You know, the old you would’ve said no, I don’t love you, and joke until I was the one saying it about five to ten times.”

“That’s funny. How do you know I was joking?”

“Hmm… well, it’s the same way you call me dumb with a smile on your face.

It’s the same way you call my name… even when you have nothing to say to me.

It’s the same way you’re here right next to me now.”

“...”

“I’m right, and you know it.”

“You know me so well, huh?”

“I do. Don’t I?”

“No, no you don’t.”
